Time to Teach!

I can't believe it is here: time to start student teaching! Time flies but I am so ready to begin this exciting adventure! Did I mention how cute and funny my second graders are? Oh, the things they say...

I hope to learn and grow as a teacher and person and land an awesome job when I graduate in May.  Keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned! Best of luck to all of my fellow student teachers, too!

Las Vegas Lights

Due to a  destructive hurricane that hit St. Lucia the week of our wedding, the hubs and I landed in Las Vegas for our honeymoon.  One of my favorite sights: the lighting in all of the fabulous hotels. I literally was drooling over all of them. Amazing!

Another Favorite: The ceilings of The Bellagio

We loved Las Vegas and can't wait to go back soon!

Going Gray!

Haha, not literally, and the day I do find gray hair in my long locks, I want be gabbing about it.

My master bedroom/bathroom is going gray tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited. I have been lusting over the color for some time now and finally, my dreams will become a reality. Geez, call me crazy but in my life, it's the small things that make me happy.

I started redecorating the hubby's bachelor pad about a year ago and the downstairs is almost complete! I couldn't have done it with out the help of the talented Emily A. Clark! You can also catch a glimpse of what we have done to the downstairs here.  And you can see our introduction to her blog here! Emily is the sweetest and such a joy to work with!! Pure talent!

I can't wait to show you pictures of before and after so stay tuned! Also, I will be absent from the blog world for the next couple of days due to the Praxis exam I have to take this Saturday! I think my sweet friend and fellow blogger Jane Marie said it best! So until then, enjoy one of my favorite gray bedroom inspiration pictures.

Crazy for Color

One of my favorite things in the world is getting a manicure/pedicure. I have always played it safe by getting the typical light colors on my toes and hands. However, this Fall/Winter, I have changed my tune and gone for the bold, dark colors that the ever so nice little Vietnamese lady suggests to me.

Here is a list of my faves:

Oh, To Be 25 Again!

Midnight in Moscow

Suzi Says Da

Over the Taupe

What are your favorite colors?

A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

No, not the kind of picture you literally draw or paint, but the picture that comes to life through the use of amazing photography.

Planning my wedding was beyond exciting. Being the picky, detailed kind of person I am, hiring the perfect wedding photographer was at the top of my list.

After meeting with a couple of amazing and very talented professionals, I came to the doorstep of Richard Israel. I loved his witty and bubbly personality from "hello" and I instantly was intrigued with his background and his work. I had looked at his website and blog prior to meeting him but seeing his work in person was beyond impressive. You can tell his photography is about capturing the mood, moments and beauty of his subjects in an artful way.

His style?  Classic. Elegant. Timeless.  I love his use of film and black and white pictures. I knew I had met the man who would document the greatest day of my life. And I knew he would paint the picture I had always dreamed of.  Check out a glimpse of our wedding day here.

New Year+ New Blog

Another year, another attempt to start my very own blog. Since I am an avid reader of blogs in general, it is my only hope that my own will come to life.

As I enter into 2011, I have lots of "new" in my life. New last name, new home, new career.. new list of accomplishments that I hope to achieve.

I am excited about 2011 and hope it brings you all everything you could ever want and more. I look forward to sharing with all of you!

xoxo, Brooke
